Welcome!

Congratulations on starting your journey to healing! I’m so glad you’re here. I created You Are a Gift because I often hear clients say they feel broken. What they don’t realize is that while we all have areas for growth, each of us is already a gift—both to the world and, most importantly, to ourselves.

I’m here to support you as you walk the road to healing. Think of me as a passenger on your journey—you’re in the driver’s seat, and I’m here to help guide you through any twists and turns along the way.

Specialties

I specialize in working with individuals ages 3-24, as well as those in the LGBTQ+ community. My areas of expertise include:

• trauma (particularly sexual abuse)
• Generational trauma (let’s break some generational curses!)
• anxiety
• depression
• and race-based trauma

These are heavy topics, but trust me, the feeling of reaching the other side is absolutely worth it!

Healing is Holistic

True healing occurs when the entirety of the person is supported. As a trauma therapist, I also take a holistic approach. We often focus solely on the mind in healing, but 70% of the population has experienced trauma, and the body stores it. A regulated nervous system is key for deep and lasting healing.

I incorporate practices like yoga, breathwork, and sound healing to help regulate the nervous system. I’m also working toward becoming a certified master herbalist, and I integrate herbalism into my practice as well. While I encourage clients to take prescribed medication, I also offer natural remedies that can be just as effective in supporting healing.

My Educational Background

I earned my Bachelor’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and Black World Studies from Dominican University and my Master’s in Social Work from Indiana University. I am also a Certified Sexual Abuse Youth Counselor (CSAYC). My natural ability to understand people’s emotions and motivations helps me approach tough topics with both care and a bit of quirkiness.

My goal is not only to help you make sense of your story but also to ensure you feel heard and understood as you share it. As a Black, queer, agender femme, I’m honored to offer a safe, authentic, and inclusive space for the community—both in person and virtually so that you may work building and improving the connection to your mind, body, and spirit. It’s my privilege to provide the care and support you need to thrive.
